I had an exclusive rights patent in the US for a device I created called "Tool Retriever. It was a device that would wrap around a hand tool and if it were dropped in a confined location or water could be retrieved by retracting the line. It could be hung on the waist (belt area). It might have been the pathway for other retrievers such as the magnet tool retriever.
