Obinna Ebirim

Obinna Ebirim Obinna Ebirim is a medical doctor, public health enthusiast, vaccine advocate, Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, and a Co-Founder of Impact Driven Young Leaders (IDYL) Initiative.

Obinna believes in promoting health and wellbeing, community development, and leadership, and has served as:
A Volunteer Medical Doctor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church Sick bay, Abuja, where he provided free healthcare on Saturdays for poor members of his community.
The Content Developer of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Face2face Group Abuja;
Member of the 2012 Physician Week Planning Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Rivers State Chapter;
President of Health Community Development Service group, NYSC Sapele Zone; and
Assistant Secretary of the Student Union Government (SUG), University of Port Harcourt.

Experience and Accomplishments
Obinna has worked as a:
Senior Associate, Direct Consulting and Logistics (DCL) in Abuja Nigeria where he provided programmatic support to the Government of Nigeria on immunization and primary health care (PHC) system strengthening through Nigerian projects of Johns Hopkins International Vaccine Access Centre (IVAC).
Technical/Personal Assistant to a Commissioner for Health in Imo State Nigeria where he supported in policymaking, health supervisory and political roles of the Commissioner.
Medical Officer at Naval Medical Centre in Sapele, Delta State Nigeria where he provided healthcare services to the officers, ratings, civilian Staff, and other patients from the host community as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
Intern House Officer at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in River State Nigeria where he provided clinical management of patients in a tertiary health setting.
