Innovative People

Guillaume Thierry

I really want to try my potential on the creativity-innovation front. I regularly have ideas and draft solutions to everyday problems that I encounter, in terms of tools, household devices, software (both operating systems and productivity), and, more importantly, humane solutions to societal problems. My great frustration is that I have found no place where these ideas can go other than messy notebooks, whether hand written or digital. I am passionate about my work, especially experimental design and I believe I have developed serious expertise in the domain of controlling participants' state of mind and focus on task over the past 25 years, which I hope could be harnessed to help solve human-machine and human-human interaction problems. It has taken me 40 years to reach a decent level of self-esteem and I can take criticism, and in fact I tend to react positively to it by tackling emerging problems head-on. My greatest hobby is research (it is also my job). I like sailing (after learning over a few years I bought a run-down hobiecat 16, which I renovated and made sea worthy), I like renovating houses and DIY, building custom furniture, I play squash occasionally, and I like to take up new challenges in new domains.
