anything to do with the tribal population of the world esp. the hunter-gatherer tribes. am also deewply interested in the new technologies and its effect on work and work conditions such as the outsourcing phenomena and its effect on the young workforce of a developing country like India. basically anything to do with the conflicts generated by the forces of modernization and consequent changes interests me deeply.

- i was born in bhagalpur. did my schooling in dehradun and thereafter have lived in delhi for almost two decades now. i did my graduation in economics my masters in sociology and got a degree in journalism from iimc in between. i have worked in voluntary organizations, print media and the bpo industry. a couple of years ago i came to the andamans and was captivated by the story of the tribals here and decided to do my doctorate with a thesis based on the cultural changes and impact of modernization on these stone-age tribals. i love to travel but have not been outside india and music, mostly the old genre of the golden age of the sixties and seventies (in fact i started my career with a series of articles on the history of music for sun [indian sun] magazine )in both hindi and western, is my passion and can play guitar a bit but cant sing for my life.
