I do not have any specific techniques with which I employ. I can say that over the past 10 years in audit I have gained an understanding of how to quickly gather information, perform additional research and then solve a problem. The nature of being an auditor means that you constantly go to new environments and learn the information quickly because you are not given a lot of time. You learn how to decipher between facts and fiction. So I don't have a fornal technique but I just have 10 years of experience solving problems and getting to the root of an issue.

- I saved a compnay $3.5MM during an purchase acquistion investigation. I was able to find additional liabilities that the company had not disclosed which affected the value of the company and as a result lead to a lower purchase price for the acquiring company.
Another example occured when I looked at a new shared service center for a cable cable company. I performed an audit of their new system and found some ineffiencies. I was then able to discuss feasible solutions with the process owners.
