I have a serving dish. When you remove the cover you may stand it upright in the end of the base. There is no need to place the cover on the counter. This idea is unlimited in the number and sizes of serving dishes that can be made out of Plastic, stainless steel, tempered glass, aluminum and even wood. There is no limit. If it has a cover, it can be designed to stand. This idea could be extended to the medical field. Almost everthing in the medical field has to be covered. When you remove the cover and place it on a table, it then must be sterlized. By placing the cover upright built into the base, the cover stays sterlized.
