A 3D printed mouthpiece could provide a simple, low-cost solution for people who suffer from sleep apnea.
In contrast to conventional expensive and uncomfortable sleep apnea treatments, the 3D mouthpiece can be customized for each patient using a 3D scanner to create a map of the user's mouth. Made of a combination of titanium and medical-grade plastic, the mouthpiece features a titanium spout that protrudes from the user's mouth to create an unobstructed channel for airflow.
Compared to current alternatives, which include forced air or electric shock, the 3D printed mouthpiece is both ingenious and simple.
