ACE 16+ Purecontrol Removes the Laces for Better Control

ACE 16+ Purecontrol Removes the Laces for Better Control
Jan-20-16
The ACE 16+ Purecontrol soccer boot from Adidas eliminates the laces altogether to offer more precise ball control during gameplay.

The laceless boots grip the foot via a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) frame that secures the middle of the foot. An internal knitted locking section further ensures a snug fit, while the upper section is made from Primknit, a material made of a blend of tight and loose knits that was used by Adidas in an earlier hybrid shoe concept. The ACE 16+ Purecontrol also includes a redesigned sole plate and enlarged heel pocket, which reduces the weight of the boot.

According to the designers (and selected players), the laceless design offers a glove-like fit and a larger surface area for cleaner strikes with more power and accuracy.
