Addibot 3D Printer Makes the World Its Workspace

Addibot 3D Printer Makes the World Its Workspace
Jan-23-16
The Addibot robotic 3D printer is ready to make its move from ice rinks to roads, where it will travel the streets to fill potholes.

The Addibot’s design is based on the idea that a moving 3D printer is able to print on much larger scale, and is the result of two years of research. An earlier version of the robot saw it using water to repair cracks in an ice rink’s surface, and also offered a proof of concept for the technology. Now the team has turned their attention to road resurfacing, and is developing a way for it to carry and disperse asphalt materials.

Looking to the future, the Addibot company believes the units could be used to print roads that incorporate conductive materials, sensors or carbon fiber, and plans to offer a range of Addibots of different models and price points.
