AeroPod Measures Bike Drag

AeroPod Measures Bike Drag
Apr-23-18
The AeroPod from Velocomp is the first of its kind able to measure both cycling power and aerodynamic drag.

Typically, professional cyclists had to rely on expensive, lab-based equipment to measure CdA (coefficient of drag times frontal surface area). To make this information, more accessible, the AeroPod attaches to the handlebars to allow the rider to determine their CdA in a real-time environment. Once the bike and rider settings have been installed and calibrated, the small, light-weight device determines the CdA once per second, displaying the data on a paired device to allow the rider to see how their aerodynamics changed over time.
