The tires, an evolution of Bridgestone’s earlier tires debuted in 2011, have taken the step from the concept phase to a prototype. Instead of an air-filled tube, the tires’ weight is supported by a unique arrangement of spokes. According to the team, the resin used to make the spokes and rubber components “is a more efficient use of resources.” making the tires a bit more eco-friendly as well.
