Ambulance Drone Can Be On the Scene in One Minute

Nov-04-14 The Ambulance drone could help 'fill in the gap' before an ambulance arrives by delivering an AED and medicines directly to the scene—saving precious minutes.

Developed by Alec Mormot, a graduate student at TU Delft University, the drone is equipped with a defibrillator, CPR aids and a selection of medication. The AED is built into the drone, instead of simply being carried like a previous iteration, and the components are clearly labeled. A particularly useful feature is the addition of a camera, microphone and speaker on the drone, which allows a remote paramedic to steer the drone and instruct lay-people on how to use the equipment properly.
