Apple Watch Patent Puts the Camera in the Band

Jun-28-19 A new Apple Watch patent would see the camera built into the strap for extra control during picture-taking.

The patent tackles the issue of taking photos with a camera-watch while still being able to view the display. To help reduce awkward contortions by the wearer, the camera lens would be embedded in a flexible band that could be extended and bent to the desired angle. Future iterations could also see camera placed on both sides of the band and 360-degree capabilities, as well as different control options such as pinching the band or tapping the screen.
