BAM Lips-Free Breathalyzer

 BAM Lips-Free Breathalyzer
Dec-31-13
The Lapka Breath Alcohol Monitor (BAM) is meant to be shared with friends, eliminating lip-to-device contact and requiring the users to simply blow into their clenched hand.

The device is housed in a black ceramic cylinder and communicates with a custom smartphone app via inaudible sound waves. It is activated automatically by holding it in a fist and exhaling into the other side of the fist and then launching the app. The app will let the user know when the BAM has received an adequate breath sample, after which the device will measure the user’s intoxication level with its electrochemical platinum fuel cell sensor.
