BeBop Seat Sensors Increase Airbag Effectiveness

BeBop Seat Sensors Increase Airbag Effectiveness
May-19-16
The BeBop smart car seat sensors increase passenger safety by determining the occupant’s weight and position to more accurately deploy airbags.

Whereas current systems only detect the occupants’ weight (which could also be a suitcase), the BeBop system features an array of sensors embedded in a sturdy, lightweight fabric that can be fitted to any size and shape of car seat. By detecting more specifics about the passenger, including whether their legs are crossed or which direction they are leaning, the system can trigger the airbags to deploy at the most opportune time.
