Developed as refugee housing, the Better Shelter from Ikea has been hailed for its award-winning design and ease of setup.
Awarded the Beazley Design of the Year, the Better Shelter—like many of Ikea’s products—is delivered flat-packed and can be assembled quickly with no specialized tools. The Better Shelter is more secure than the commonly used tents, with windows and a locking door, and its rooftop solar panel will power the shelter's lights while also charging a small, mobile device.
Could this be made even simpler to assemble within continual use? Users might be moving mounters and researchers, even casual campers. Posted by Uolevi Kattun on February 1, 2017
