Bistro Cat Feeder Uses Facial Recognition to Monitor Pet Health

Bistro Cat Feeder Uses Facial Recognition to Monitor Pet Health
Jul-19-14
The Bistro smart feeder uses facial recognition to monitor the servings and track the eating habits of its feline visitors.

A lack of appetite is a good indicator that a cat is not feeling well, but many cat owners have multiple cats, and it can be difficult to notice when one of them changes its eating habits. To make it easier to track pet health, the Bistro smart feeder is equipped with facial recognition and a scale that will weigh the cat while it is eating. The system tracks the cat's body weight as well as food and water intake, and then sends the information to a smartphone for easy access. Pet owners can even use the camera to watch their cat eat, if they choose, and an LED will gently illuminate the Bistro after it gets dark.
