Bluefin-9 UUV is Portable and Powerful

Oct-27-18 The Bluefin-9 UUV from General Dynamics packs a powerful sensor system into its small, easily deployable unit.

Described as a two-man portable, the Bluefin-9 unmanned underwater vehicle is equipped with a pair of carrying handles that allow it to be easily deployed from a pier or boat. The UUV can travel at speeds up to three knots (or dive at six knots) while it gathers subsurface data such as sonar information, images and video via its new, state-of-the-art GPS navigation and guidance system. The Bluefin-9 is also modular, so its components—including the data storage module and battery—can be quickly swapped out.
