Blueforce System Protects Police Dogs from Overheating

Blueforce System Protects Police Dogs from Overheating
Mar-29-14
The Blueforce K9 Safety Bundle was designed to help keep police dogs from overheating when they have been left behind in police vehicles.

Although police dogs perform many important tasks, they are often left waiting in police cars or vans until their services are needed. And, according to the Pennsylvania K9 Assistance Foundation, as many dogs die from overheating in cars as they do from gunshot wounds.

To help prevent these needless deaths, the Blueforce Development created their K9 Life Safety Bundle. The system features a surgically-implanted sensor that communicates with a receiver attached to the dog's protective gear. If the animal's temperature falls above or below the range determined by the handler, all subscribers to the Blueforce system will receive an instant notification by smartphone in the form of a tone, vibration or email.
