Building Plastic Roads

Jul-13-15 By building roads of plastic instead of asphalt, the VolkerWessels company aims to offer a more eco-friendly and rugged option to conventional paving.

The roads proposed by the company would be made from recycled plastic, which can withstand greater temperature changes, requires less maintenance, and can be installed faster than asphalt-based roads. Sections of the plastic roads could be made in a factory and transported to the location, reducing on-site construction time and the resulting traffic jams.
