CADence Detects Heart Problems with Sound

CADence Detects Heart Problems with Sound
Jan-05-15
The handheld CADence system is able to detect coronary artery blockages using sound, offering an alternative to radiation stress tests.

Developed by AUM Cardio, the stethoscope-like device works by listening for the acoustic waves generated by the turbulence caused by arterial blockages. These waves generate a specific sound that is identified by the company's proprietary algorithm, allowing physicians to detect blockages using a non-invasive, radiation-free method.

The CADence system recently received approval for release in Europe.
