CanopyStair Straps Steps to the Trees

CanopyStair Straps Steps to the Trees
Jul-04-15
The graceful CanopyStair makes it easy to climb into the canopy of a tree without damaging the tree—or yourself.

Inspired by the designers’ Thor ter Kulve and Rob McIntyre own wishes to ascend into the trees, the modular CanopyStair makes its way up the tree via a series of ratchet steps. The steps attach to an aluminum tripod frame, and the frame itself is separated from the tree’s trunk by neoprene pads—the only material that actually makes contact with the tree. According to the developers, the CanopyStair could be assembled by two people in about three hours.

Currently, the team is working hard to take the CanopyStair to market.
