Cardboard KarTent Hopes to Reduce Festival Waste

Feb-17-16 In preparation for festival season, the KarTent is made completely of cardboard, making it easy to recycle after the party is over.

While camping festivals are great fun, each one sees a large amount of tents bought just for the event (up to 1 in 4) left behind to be disposed of. To offer more eco-friendly option, the KarTent is made entirely of recyclable cardboard. The new and improved version of the tent will expand upon the previous verions with a pentagonal shape and two layers of cardboard for more waterproofing and stability. The tent can also be flatpacked for easy transport, and the cardboard itself can be decorated with drawings and other artwork.

Although some believe the disposable KarTent may actually encourage our disposable culture, the developers hope it will offer a solution to the tons of waste that accumulate after festivals.
