Cargo-Carrying Robotic Turtle

Cargo-Carrying Robotic Turtle
Oct-05-12
The Naro-Tartaruga robotic sea turtle concept may be a bit bulky, but that makes it easier for it to carry its cargo of robot parts and batteries.

Designed by a team at ETH Zurich, the turtle-inspired robot was chosen for its ease of construction and natural payload-carrying ability. Currently, the cylindrical aluminum vessel is propelled through the water with turtle-like flippers, but that design could change with further study.

The Naro-Tartaruga is the second robot of the naro project, and continues the fin propulsion concept.
