CAROS Wall-Climbing, Fireproof Drone

Mar-22-16 The CAROS fireproof, flying, wall-climbing drone could bring a new dimension to firefighting and inspection operations.

Developed by the team from KAIST, the CAROS (Climbing Aerial Robot System) can fly like a quadcopter, but then attach itself perpendicularly to a wall other vertical surface. Once in place, its onboard navigation system will guide it as its sensors gather information and map its enviromenent.

In addition performing inspections, the CAROS could also be used during firefighting operation, traveling through the building in search of survivors and transmitting information wirelessly to the firefighting team.
