Clever Medkits Keep Track of Inventory Automatically

Aug-02-14 The Clever Medkits will indicate which supplies are needed to tend to a specific injury and when those supplies need to be restocked.

The kit, shaped like a green medical cross, is filled with compartments equipped with sensors and LED lighting. An 'incident push button' enables the user to select the injury being treated, which will then cause the appropriate compartments to light up. When the last supplies have been removed from a particular compartment, the compartment will glow red and a light on top of the kit will illuminate. A camera mounted on the kit will record who accesses it, helping to encourage accountability, and the system is also equipped with WiFi connectivity, so the inventory can be checked at any time.
