Conductive Film is also Transparent

Conductive Film is also Transparent
Jun-13-16
A new flexible and conductive thin film made from a web of copper fibers could have applications ranging from solar panels to flexible displays.

Created by teams from the University of Korea and the University of Illinois, the film stands out in that it is both transparent and highly conductive. This characteristic was achieved by coating the thin-fibered polymer polyacrylonitrile with small amounts of metal, and then spinning the material into a web with holes large enough to let light through. The fibers were then covered with a thin layer of copper—creating a material that is able to carry a charge while remaining almost entirely transparent.
