Core M Chips Let Users Wake Devices By Voice

Core M Chips Let Users Wake Devices By Voice
Sep-09-14
Intel has announced a new line of chips that will allow users to wake up their devices and communicate with them using voice commands.

The Core M chips are equipped with a digital signal processor core that is able to process audio efficiently and with very little power, allowing the system to listen all the time. Users can choose any two- or three-word phrase to awaken the computer, and then continue to communicate with the device as if it were a voice-controlled virtual assistant.

The Core M chips will be placed in laptops and tablets destined for sale by the end of the year.
