CREE LED Cooled by Convection

Oct-30-14 The newest LED bulb from CREE has made LEDs even more accessible by incorporating convection cooling into the bulb's design.

The LED bulbs from CREE have already made their mark as some of the most affordable LEDS on the market. Now the company has gone a step further with their 4Flow Filament Design, which sees ventilation slots being incorporated into the bottom and top of the bulb. These slots allow cooler air from the bottom to flow over the LEDs while the hot air rises to be released from the top, and eliminates the need for the heat sink.

The bulbs also use less energy than their counterparts and are made with plastic, which makes them resistant to shattering.
