Current Window Harnesses Solar Energy Colorfully

Current Window Harnesses Solar Energy Colorfully
Apr-29-15
The lovely Current Window harnesses solar energy with its “stained glass” panels to deliver power to a built-in USB port.

Created by Dutch designer Marjan van Aubel, the Current Window features dye sensitized solar cells that create a current when sunlight hits the pigment. The window can even harness the energy from indirect light, storing the charge in a battery for access through the sill’s built-in USB port. According to van Aubel, the window can recharge the average phone in about seven hours.
