EdiPulse Prints Chocolate Based on Exercise

EdiPulse Prints Chocolate Based on Exercise
Jul-03-15
The EdiPulse fitness motivation system will reward physical activity by 3D-printing a piece of chocolate based on the level of exercise performed.

The EdiPulse system makes use of a wristband that will monitor the user’s heart rate during exercise and daily activities, and a 3D printer that will print the appropriate amount of chocolate at the end of the of day. The printer will also print encouraging messages if the user is on their goals, or a sad face if the day’s exercise was lacking. The more the person exercises, the “more cheerful and beautiful the chocolate becomes.”

The EdiPulse is just of the many gamification techniques developed by Exertion Games Lab, who are working to design better interactive games with a focus on physical activity.
