Electric Fork Simulates Salt

Apr-12-16 An electric flavoring fork able to simulate the taste of salt using electricity could help people on low-salt diets still enjoy salt-flavored foods.

The prototype fork, developed by a team at the University of Tokyo, includes a handle that holds a battery powering a small electric current. The user can choose the level of salty flavor by pressing a button on the handle, with three different salt sensations created by the electrical charge.
