Electric Scrooser Augments Kick-Power

The Scrooser electric scooter harkens back to a child’s kick-powered scooter, but adds an adult touch with its electric, kick-amplifying motor.Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, the Scrooser is powered by an impulse drive made up of a direct-drive 1000 watt electric motor embedded in the rear hub. The motor augments the rider’s kick, adding a boost of up to four times as much power to a top speed of 15 mph. The Scrooer also includes a seat and a braking system that will cause the motor to automatically shut off if the rider needs to stop while the motor is engaged. According to the developers, a single charge can deliver a range of up to 34 miles.
