Electromagnetic Harvester Draws Power from Its Surroundings

Electromagnetic Harvester Draws Power from Its Surroundings
Jan-26-13
The Electromagnetic Harvester lets you harvest energy from the devices around you and store it in a standard battery.

Developed by Dennis Siegel, the device is able to tap into electromagnetic fields generated by appliances, cell phones and even overhead wires. The strength of the field is indicated by an LED light on the device, which must be held within the field to harvest the redundant energy. Depending upon the strength of the field, one of the batteries can be fully charged in about one day.

Dennis,
congrats for your project!
Be advised that NASA, exactly now, is looking for NEW ways to get energy in space for ISS.
Best regards!
