Elios UAV Drone helps Search Teams

Jul-15-16 The Elios UAV drone may soon be assisting search and rescue teams, thanks to a new transmission system that allows for better maneuverability.

The improved drone system, created in partnership between DJI and Flyability, is equipped with the Lightbridge 2, a special image transmission system designed specifically to allow the drone to fly through intricate structures. The Elios operators receive a live view from the drone, which enables them to scout out an area before sending in human teams, and the drone itself has been designed to withstand bumps into walls and other obstacles.
