Flatev Automatic Tortilla-Maker

Jun-04-14 Enjoy freshly-made tortillas with ease with the Flatev, a flatbread-making machine that is being called the Keurig of tortillas.

Created by Carlos Ruiz, the Flatev(Flatbread Evolution) is designed to work with pods that contain a ball of dough specifically crafted to work with the device. Once the pod has been inserted into the Flatev, the machine breaks it open to extract the dough, flattens it and cooks it—delivering a freshly-baked tortilla in less than a minute. The dough pods contain no preservatives, and so must be kept refrigerated.

Ruiz has already demonstrated a working prototype of the Flatev, and has plans to enable it to cook other types of flatbreads like naan, roti and chapati.
