FluidVision Implant Adjusts Focus using Liquid

FluidVision Implant Adjusts Focus using Liquid
Mar-15-14
The FluidVision intraocular implant was designed to help the eye regain its focusing ability by using the natural forces of the eye to change the shape of the implanted lens.

Developed by PowerVision, the implant is equipped with fluid-filled internal channels, which will change shape as the natural forces in the eye cause the fluid to displace. This change in shape (shifting from thick to thin) will increase or decrease the power of the lens in much the same way the natural lens adjusts to different focal lengths. The FluidVision can be implanted in the same way as other intraocular lenses, and early tests on volunteers have been positive.
