Force Transceiver Transmits Force in Real Time

Force Transceiver Transmits Force in Real Time
Jan-02-14
A new device able to instantly and wirelessly transmit force could have applications in construction and the medical profession.

The system, called a “force transceiver” uses an extremely high-speed internet connection and powerful computing capacity allow two-way, real time communication of the amount of pressure being applied and the resulting resistance. The technology could be installed in a robot to allow it to perform complicated tasks in areas unsafe for humans, but its most novel application is its potential to take the burden off the medical profession by allowing physical therapy to be carried out remotely.
