Sporting the usual array of parabolic mirrors, the key to the GoSun’s sun-free cooking lies in its special thermal battery created by the development team. The battery, made up of phase-changing thermal wax inside a polymer-coated aluminum case, can absorb a great deal of heat and release it slowly over time at temperatures up to 400 degrees. The food is contained within a vacuum tube during cooking, which the team says retains the heat and helps keep the food moist.
