HapticWave Offers VR Touch Without Gloves

HapticWave Offers VR Touch Without Gloves
Jul-07-16
The HapticWave system lets virtual reality users receive tactile feedback without the need for gloves.

In development by Oculus, the HapticWave system is made up of a metal plate sitting on top of electromagnet actuators arranged in a ring. When the user places their hand on the metal plate, the actuators transmit vibrations that, when paired with the Oculus Rift headset and the proper music, create haptic feedback that simulates the sensations of touching the object in VR.
