Hella Detection System Senses Vehicle Damage

Hella Detection System Senses Vehicle Damage
Feb-13-15
The Intelligent Damage Detection System from the German supplier Hella would function as a smart body panel to detect damage to the car, and even where the damage occurred.

A grid of thin, foil-like pressure-sensitive sensors on the body of car would detect dents or scratches, and on-board cameras and GPS could be integrated into the system to catch the cause on video. The system is compatible with all standard car materials, and could even be used in conjunction with an app to notify the owner the moment the damage occurs.

The company envisions the technology benefiting the car owner as well as car rentals agencies and insurance companies.
