Bring a bit of high-tech serendipity to your garden with the Toro-bots—locationally-aware, Japanese lantern robots that wander the garden to shine their lights.
Designed by Cassinelli Alvaro, the Toro-bots consist of Japanese-style lanterns attached to the top of PhantomX Quadrupeds. The robot meander around the garden and are programmed to exhibit individual behavior and personalities. They are connected to an XBee network, which allows them to be controlled with a mobile device, and their infrared rangefinders enable them to avoid or move toward other objects as they add a new glow to the garden.
