Kat Walk Omnidirectional Treadmill

Kat Walk Omnidirectional Treadmill
Aug-17-15
The Kat Walk omnidirectional treadmill allows the user to move in any direction with fewer restrictions, promising virtual gaming enthusiasts a more immersive experience.

Developed for use with virtual reality games, the Kat Walk’s open structure offers much more freedom of movement than current VR treadmill options. The Kat Walk designers have reduced the number of harnesses to a minimum and eliminated barriers or rails, enabling the user to gesture as much as they like without hitting a barrier. Sensors in the Kat Walk track movement to translate into game actions, and the team has designed specialized shoe covers that simulate the feeling of natural walking and help beginners get used to the system.
