Kinsa Smart Thermometer Entertains Kids and Informs Parents

Jan-06-14 The Kinsa Health smartphone-connected thermometer was developed to make checking a child’s temperature less stressful while also keeping track of health trends both in the family and around town.

The thermometer, which recently received FDA approval, is designed to be used like a conventional thermometer. It connects to a smartphone though the headphone jack and makes use of the phone’s processing power to record and display temperature, which streamlines the thermometer design. The app will display entertaining animations on the smartphone screen, which help keep the child relaxed, and allows users to create individual profiles in order to track the course of their fevers and share the information with their doctor.

Once the Kinsa database has been increased by users, a future version of the app will allow users to check on what sorts of sicknesses are going around their area or what outbreaks are occurring at schools.
