The spoon, from Lift Labs in San Francisco, is equipped with the company’s Active Cancellation of Tremor technology, which keeps the spoon steady in a shaky hand. The user’s small, involuntary arm movements are detected by the accelerometers in the spoon’s handle, triggering motors that respond by cancelling out the motions. In tests, the Liftware Spoon resulted in a 75 percent reduction of spoon shakiness.
