LineFORM Robot Shift Shape Based on Purpose

Nov-13-15 The LineFORM snake-like robot from MIT can transform into array of shapes, including a mobile phone, lamp and flexible data cable.

The LineFORM robot is equipped with a series of motors and shape detection sensors that allow the bot to monitor its different segments as it folds into the desired shape. Created primarily to explore the possibilities of line-based shape changing interfaces, the LineFORM bot is still in the concept stage.
