Magmaris Magnesium-Based Scaffold is Stronger, Dissolves Faster

Magmaris Magnesium-Based Scaffold is Stronger, Dissolves Faster
Jun-17-16
The Magmaris bioresorbable scaffold from Biotronics offers a new way to treat coronary artery disease without leaving the implant in the body permanently.

The Magmaris magnesium-based scaffold is easier to implant in the patient than typical polymer-based versions, while its magnesium backbone allows it to better withstand the forces inside a blood vessel. And, because the body is able to quickly absorb magnesium, the scaffold will also break down faster than polymer, with tests showing a resorption time of approximately twelve months.

Biotronics recently received the CE Mark approval for the Magmaris scaffold.
