An innovative magnetic fabric could let people store their passcodes in their clothing.
Developed by a team from the University of Washington, the magnetic fabric is made up of conductive thread magnetized to store data. The codes can be created in clothing by rubbing the fabric in specific sections with magnets, generating a pattern that can read by off-the-shelf magnometers. The code-embedded fabric can also be machine-washed without damaging the data.
