MINT Breathalyzer Checks Your Breath for Oral Health

MINT Breathalyzer Checks Your Breath for Oral Health
Jan-07-15
The MINT breathalyzer monitors both hydration and bad breath, letting the user breathe a bit more confidently while also helping promote oral health.

Developed by Breathometer using similar technology as in their BAC breathalyzer, the MINT determines breath quality by measuring the Volatile Sulfur Compounds (VSCs) created by biofilms in the mouth. Hydration levels are detected by measuring the moisture level in the mucus membrane—the first place that will be impacted by dehydration. Besides letting users check their breath without relying on a friend, the MINT also helps detect the early signs of gum disease or tooth decay.

The MINT has surpassed its funding goal on Indiegogo.
