Mood Enhancing Light Bulbs

Jan-14-14 Developed for use on the International Space Station, the “biologically corrected” Definity Digital light bulbs will do more than illuminate your room—they will also help enhance your moods (and save sea turtles).

Offered by Lighting Science, the LED bulbs can fit standard sockets and are available in two types: one to help enhance alertness and one to ease a person into sleep. The Awake and Alert light produces extra blue light, which is said to increase energy, while the Good Night bulb emits less blue light (Blue light is believed to interfere with melatonin production).

The company also offers the MyNature grow bulb, designed to help protect coastal wildlife which can mistake conventional house lighting for the moon and become disoriented.
